Center for Immigration Studies and the Arizona border
The trail behind of the Anti Immigrant sentiment and the rethoric language against Immigrants and political parties associated with.
This sad tragedy is a wake up call for all Arizonans and the Nation. It's time to take back Nation from the right-wing, anti-people demagogues and their corporate masters. We must demand that they stop blaming immigrants, muslims,Jews, Asians, African Americans for their failures.
we're angry at the political climate in Arizona and the that encourages these acts of terrorism. We're angry at the talk radio shows, the right-wing legislature, U.S. Senator, R-Ariz., and the elected officials who come up with one racist anti-immigrant or anti-worker bill after another. Meanwhile our schools and health care continue to rot. And we're angry with the corporate interests who own the politicians and the hate spewing radio stations.
Every event here is turning into a memorial. A press conference that had been scheduled to denounce the attacks on the 14th amendment and ethnic studies in schools was a case in point. Kat Rodriguez of the Coalición de Derechos Humanos summed it all up, "Our legislature started the year walking in hate." All the speakers pointed out that it's not only the talk shows that encourage violence but it's the governor, legislative leadership and other right-wing elected officials who have created a climate that encourages acts of violence and terrorism.
Hate Crime Instigated by Political Anti-Immigrant Rhe...
The Historic of attacks on Hate crimes against Latinos said another history.
hate climbed against due to the Political Rethorica language, Latinos were the victims for hate crimes climbing 61 percent from previous years.
In the five years from 2003-2007, the number of hate crimes reported against Hispanics increased nearly 40 percent (from 426 in 2003 to 595 in 2007). Of all hate crimes reported in the United States in 2007, 7.8 percent were committed against Hispanics. Of hate crimes in 2007 motivated by bias due to the victim's ethnicity or national origin, nearly 60 percent were committed against Hispanics, up nearly 50 percent from 2003. This alarming increase, and its correlation to increasingly virulent anti-immigrant rhetoric

A Canadian Immigration Officer posed as a Lawyer.

A man hiding in Toronto after he was ordered deported to Brazil claims a border services agent arrested him after posing as his lawyer using the Terrorism bill to identify, persecute, prosecute, convict and punish undocumented Immigrants as Terrorists but also Canada's widely known values of fairness and respect for human rights. Hmmmmm?
.
Fabricio Campos's lawyer, Guidy Mamann, said the failed refugee claimant was arrested Tuesday outside his friend's west-end apartment by an immigration enforcement officer who had called Campos's cellphone that morning identifying himself as one of his lawyers and offering to take him to meet his wife.
"This is not about (my client) but about people who get a call from a lawyer, who ends up being a law enforcement officer impersonating and interfering (in) one's rights to legal counsel," Mamann said in a telephone interview yesterday.
Campos, a drywaller, is being detained at an immigration holding centre. He's due for deportation to Brazil on Tuesday.
In a statement issued yesterday, the Canada Border Services Agency would not comment specifically on Campos's claims, but it did say "our information conflicts with the complainant's."
The release said all allegations of employee misconduct are taken seriously, and management reviews and investigates all complaints.
In an affidavit not yet filed in court, Campos claimed he had a call on his cellphone Tuesday morning from a man claiming to be a lawyer "Joel" from Mamann's law firm.
"Naturally when the caller identified himself as `Joel,' I believed he was referring to Mr. Sandaluk. The caller told me that he wanted to take me to see my wife in detention," Campos said in the affidavit. "He asked me if I was at 75 Emmett Ave. I told him, no, I'm at a friend's house at Trethewey and Black Creek. I told him the address."
Campos said he asked the caller twice if it was safe to see his wife since immigration authorities were out looking for him. "He assured me that I wouldn't be detained," he said. Ten minutes later he was arrested by two immigration enforcement officers in the lobby.
Mamann said Campos's phone displayed the caller's number – the same as that used by one of the officers. "Why would someone in hiding tell an arresting officer where he was?" the lawyer asked.
Campos has been in Canada since 2002. His wife, Marta Sousa, was arrested with their Canadian-born daughter a day earlier when officers arrived at their home looking for him. Sousa and the girl were released after Campos's arrest.
Mamann plans to complain to the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Civil Liberties Association about the officer's alleged conduct

Sexual abused by Borders Patrol.
Despite some improvements in the way complaints of abuse are handled, people detained by Federal immigration agents along the United States-Mexican border are still often subject to ''cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment,'' according to a lengthy report released today by the human-rights group Amnesty International.
The abuse includes beatings, sexual assault, racially derogatory comments and denial of medical care and food, said the group, which conducted several weeks of research along the border, including interviews with immigrant advocacy groups, immigration officials and people who said they were victims of brutality.
Accusations of abusive behavior by its agents have long dogged the Border Patrol, whose responsibilities include detaining Undocumented Immigrants and, in many cases, deporting them back to Mexico or other countries from which they came. The report today suggested that many immigrants were unable or afraid to report abuse by agents, and that the relatively few cases in which agents have been arrested or disciplined for such behavior represent only the tip of a much larger problem.
The report was issued exactly one year after the shooting death of an American teen-ager in Redford, Tex., by a member of a Marine patrol backing up Federal agents in an anti-drug operation. Two grand juries have declined to indict the marine who fired the fatal shot, but many groups that promote immigrants' rights say the killing was an unjustified homicide that should result in criminal charges. And the report today said that a ''thorough, independent investigation'' of the incident was still needed
''Although instances of civil and human rights violations by I.N.S. employees are not common,'' she said in a statement, ''any instance of abuse is one too many and will not be tolerated.'' She also said the agency was already carrying out several steps recommended by an official advisory panel that includes private citizens and a representative of the Mexican Government.
The report, ''Human Rights Concerns in the Border Region with Mexico,'' was the first major look at the issue by the group, which has chronicled human-rights abuses around the world. It said that all detainees should be informed of their rights, in their native languages, and that they should not be ''discouraged, threatened or prevented from exercising their right to file a complaint.''
At a news conference the Texas border city of McAllen, representatives of Amnesty International and several other human-rights groups issued lists of dozens of cases in which immigrants had complained of abuse. These included statements by people who said they were struck with batons, fists or feet, often as punishment for trying to run away from Border Patrol agents; denied water, food and blankets for those detained at Border Patrol stations, and sexually abused or threatened with sexual abuse. The reports of ill treatment came from men, women and children, virtually all of them of Latin-American descent.
We are here to send a strong message,'' said Kerry McGrath, an Amnesty International official. ''We want these officials to know that the world is watching.''
The group said that complaint forms were not readily available and that ''there is a perception that I.N.S. officers act with impunity.'' And it said that while the Border Patrol had sharply increased the number of agents along the border in recent years, it had not had a corresponding increase in the number of personnel investigating reports of abuse.

Immigrants Entrepreneurs have had a dramatic Impact on U.S. Economy.

Immigrant entrepreneurs spur renaissance nearly half of today's private, and 20 percent of public, venture-backed start-ups were founded by immigrants despite challenges, study says.
Immigrant entrepreneurs have had a dramatic impact on the corporate landscape in the United States, a study said.
A full 20 percent of venture-backed public companies were founded by one or more immigrants, according to the study, released by the National Venture Capital Association. Within the high-tech sector, that percentage rises to 40 percent.
The aggregate market capitalization of these companies, which includes giants like Intel (Charts), Google (Charts), Yahoo! (Charts), Sun Microsystems (Charts) and eBay (Charts), exceeds $500 billion, according to the study, "American Made: The Impact of Immigrant Entrepreneurs and Professionals on U.S. Competitiveness."
Additionally, nearly half of today's private venture-backed start-ups have immigrant founders, and the proportion of immigrant-founded venture-backed companies has been increasing.
Eighty-seven percent of companies founded by immigrants operate in sectors such as high-tech manufacturing, information technology and life sciences, the study said.
Of the more than 400,000 worldwide jobs created by immigrant-founded ventured-backed public companies, 70 percent are in the high-tech manufacturing sector.
However, the study also found that two-thirds of the immigrant founders surveyed said that current U.S. immigration policy hinders the ability of future foreign-born entrepreneurs to start American companies.
Cashing in on immigration
Jerry Yang, co-founder of Yahoo, came to this country from Taiwan at the age of ten and went on to Stanford University, where he and David Filo developed the concept for the online network.
"Yahoo would not be an American company today if the United States had not welcomed my family and me almost 30 years ago," Yang said in a statement.
"We must do all that we can to ensure that the door is open for the next generation of top entrepreneurs, engineers and scientists from around the world to come to the U.S. and thrive," he said.
While immigrant founders of U.S. public companies come from across the globe, the most common countries of origin are India, Israel and Taiwan.
"Foreign-born entrepreneurs have contributed significantly to our economy and our global leadership in innovation," said Mark Heesen, president of the National Venture Capital Association.
"There is no question that the U.S. must remain a magnet of foreign-born talent if we are to maintain our competitive edge," Heesen added.
The study was authored by Stuart Anderson of the National Foundation for American Policy and Michaela Platzer of Content First, LLC, and commissioned by the National Venture Capital Association as part of its MAGNET USA (Maximizing America's Growth for the Nation's Entrepreneurs and Technologists) initiative.
The study examined the Thomson Financial database of all publicly traded venture-backed companies founded since 1970. The authors then surveyed those companies that had not merged or been acquired or were otherwise no longer publicly traded (or in business). They received 342 responses.
The current immigration issue is "divisive in the Republican base, it's divisive in the Democratic base, it's divisive in the business community. It splits organized labor, it splits the immigration community. No way in and many ways out. For the Nativist and Anti Immigrants it's easy to lob snide remarks at a group of certain people whose pligh they don't understand and don't care to understand, thus they just pick one "dimension" that's convenient for them to rant about and that makes them "feel good", irrespective of whether what they say is true or false, irrespective of whether it is biased/unbalanced or not.

Current Politics dominated by ignorance?
More of the same bigoted language from McCain supporters. This time from the predominantly white people from the town of Potts ville, Pennsylvania, where McCain supporters could be seen yelling, "Bomb Obama!"
How did politics in the US come to be dominated by people who make a virtue out of ignorance? Was it charity that has permitted mankind’s closest living relative to spend two terms as president? How did Sarah Palin, Dan Quayle and other such gibbering numbskulls get to where they are? How could Republican rallies in 2008 be drowned out by screaming ignoramuses insisting that Barack Obama is a Muslim and a terrorist?
On one level this is easy to answer. Ignorant politicians are elected by ignorant people. US education, like the US health system, is notorious for its failures. In the most powerful nation on earth, one adult in five believes the sun revolves around the earth; only 26% accept that evolution takes place by means of natural selection; two-thirds of young adults are unable to find Iraq on a map; two-thirds of US voters cannot name the three branches of government; the maths skills of 15 year-olds in the US are ranked 24th out of the 29 countries of the OECD.
But this merely extends the mystery: how did so many US citizens become so dumb, and so suspicious of intelligence? Susan Jacoby’s book The Age of American Unreason provides the fullest explanation I have read so far. She shows that the degradation of US politics results from a series of interlocking tragedies.

Should we condone the rethoric language of the Anti Immigrants?

There has been a dramatic altering in the place of immigration in public opinion over the last 12 months specially Nativists, Extremists and Anti Immigrants. Immigration is now only considered the most important issue facing America by less than 1% of the American public compared to 12% last year. And Subfederal jurisdictions shoot themselves in the foot with anti-immigrant measures than to visit them on the rest of us and I want to pointed out the Top Most Offensive Quotes from Anti-Immigrant Leaders. Hate crimes against Hispanics have increased, according to the FBI. The agency reports that 820 Hispanics in the United States were victimized because of their ethnicity in 2006, up from about 600 in 2004.
I want to remind people of faith that all people are created in the image of God. In our various faith traditions, it is unacceptable to use - or let others use -- dehumanizing language in describing fellow human beings. It's totally unaceptable in any language. We need to recognize the full dignity and humanity in all people. At the same time McCain seems to have wound up with the worst of both worlds: He appears to be getting no credit from Latino voters for his past support for immigration reform, while carrying the baggage of other Republicans' hostility to illegal immigration.
1.) "We need the National Guard to clean out all ourcities and round them up...They have no problem slitting your throat and taking your money or selling drugs to your kids or raping your daughters, and they are evil people."
Chris Simcox, co-founder of the Minuteman Project and president of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. As quoted in the Southern Poverty Law Center's Intelligence Report magazine, Summer 2005.
2.) "Mexican men have a reputation for leering and worse at little girls, which shouldn't surprise us, since sex with children is socially acceptable in Mexico."
Brenda Walker, California anti-immigrant leader and publisher. From VDARE.com article titled "Top Ten Reasons Why the US Should Not Marry Mexico," January 1, 2007.
3.) "My message to them is, not in two weeks, not in two months, not in two years, never! We must be clear that we will not surrender America and we will not turn the United States over to the invaders from south of the border."
Rep. Virgil Goode (R- VA), at the March for America, Washington, DC, June 18, 2007.
4.) "I don't care if Mexicans pile up against that fence ... just run a couple of taco trucks up and down the line..."
Neal Boortz, anti-immigrant talk radio host on WSB-AM in Atlanta on June 18, 2007.
5.) "Terrorists are also walking in unopposed; our southwestern border is littered with Arabic papers and Islamic prayer rugs."
Jim Gilchrist, founder of Minutemen Project. From a press release announcing the forthcoming publication of a new book co-authored with Jerome R. Corsi, February 2006.
6.) "The brown toxic cloud strangling Los Angeles never lifts and grows thicker with every immigrant added. One can't help appreciate the streets of Paris will soon become the streets of LA. However, Paris' streets erupted while LA's shall sink into a Third World quagmire much like Bombay or Calcutta, India. When you import that much crime, illiteracy, multiple languages and disease-Americans pick up stakes and move away."
Frosty Wooldridge, anti-immigrant author and activist. Summarizing an address by a KABC-AM talk radio host to the Federation for American Immigration Reform director's meeting, Fall 2005.
7.) "What we'll do is randomly pick one night every week where we will kill whoever crosses the
border...step over there and you die. You get to decide whether it's your lucky night or not. I think that would be more fun."
Brian James, anti-immigrant talk radio host with KFYI-AM in Phoenix. Suggesting a solution to the immigration problem in Arizona while filling in for the regular host, March 2006.
8.) "Shoot him."
Phil Valentine, anti-immigration talk radio host, WWTN in Nashville. Advising Border Patrol agents to shoot undocumented immigrants during an anti-immigrant rally in Franklin, Tennessee, April 27, 2006.
9.) "We've got to make it in this country so (immigrants) can't exist here...We've got to rattle
their teeth and put their feet to the fire!"
Terry Anderson, anti-immigrant talk radio host with KRLA in Los Angeles. Speaking at a "Hold Their Feet to the Fire" anti-immigrant rally organized by the Federation for American Immigration Reform, April 22, 2007.
10.) "Our enemies are bloodied and beaten. We cannot relent. Our boot is on their throat and we must have the willingness to crush their ‘throat' so that we can put our enemy down for good. The sovereignty of our nation and the future of our culture and civilization is at stake. The United States is a beacon of salvation unto the rest of the world. Our freedoms, our culture is mans salvation. If we perish, man perishes."[]

11.-State REP. George Cleveland, An Onslow County Republican, saying Illegal Mexicans can be identified by their clothing.
12.- Johnston County Sheriff Steve Bizzell tells a reporter about his frustration with the changing face of the county where he grew up. Bizzell calls Mexicans "trashy" and says the growing Latino population is "breeding like rabbits." Bizzell also said, "Everywhere you look, it's like little Mexico around here."
13.-The "Oregon Minuteman" Rick Hickey and he is actually the vice president of Oregonians for Immigration Reform and the vice-chair of the Marion County Republican Party. Odd that a guy who is with organizations claiming to be pro-American. This groups not only hate Immigrants but one of our nations monument the Statue of Liberty, too. click here:

Barack Obama and John McCain with their Implications on Immigration and Latin America

INTERVIEWER: "You voted for the construction of the wall between Mexico and the United States...
"JOHN MCCAIN: "I didn't vote for an...I am not sure what you are talking about, but we can secure...our borders with walls and/or fences in urban areas, and then virtual fences, vehicle barriers.
INTERVIEWER: "But, you did vote for the wall.
"MCCAIN: "I didn't vote for an...I don't know what you are exactly what you are referring to."--Interview with Univision, Sept. 15, 2008.
Trolling for the votes of Hispanic Americans, John McCain distanced himself this week from plans to build a 700-mile wall along sections of the 2,000 mile U.S.-Mexico border. He suggested that he preferred a "virtual" electronic wall, with actual physical fences only in urban areas. But that claim misrepresents his vote back in September 2006, when he helped pass the "Secure Fence Act."The FactsAs a leading proponent of immigration reform, the Arizona senator long took the view that action designed to stop the flow of illegal aliens into the country should be combined with offering a path to legal citizenship to those that were already here. But he changed his position in 2006 as he prepared for his presidential bid, and voted for a law that was focused almost exclusively on keeping illegal aliens out. The law stipulates that a large stretch of the new wall would be built in McCain's home state of Arizona. Most of the top presidential candidates, including Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, joined McCain in voting for the "Secure Fence Act," which passed the Senate by 80-19.Questioned by the Spanish language television station Univision about his support for the fence, McCain claimed that he did not know what the interviewer was talking about. But the language of the legislation is very clear. Section 3 of the Act orders the Department of Homeland Security to oversee the construction of "at least 2 layers of reinforced fencing, the installation of additional physical barriers, roads, lighting, cameras, and sensors" along five sections of the border, totaling 700 miles. In the meantime, the Obama campaign has also put out a television adaccusing McCain of "lying" to win Latino votes while supporting hardline Republican policies on immigration and other matters. The advertisement attempts to link McCain to the conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh, who appears on screen along with quotes like "Shut your mouth or get out."As several bloggers have pointed out, here and here, the Limbaugh quotes have been taken out of context. The attempt to link McCain to Limbaugh is also unfair, given the fact that the radio host has frequently criticized McCain, particularly on the issue of immigration reform. The Pinocchio TestBoth McCain and Obama have taken liberties with the truth in seeking the support of Hispanic-Americans, who are emerging as a crucial voting bloc in the presidential election. McCain had a politically convenient memory lapse in forgetting his vote for a physical wall along long sections of the Mexican border, while Obama incorrectly suggested that his rival shares Limbaugh's ideas on immigration.
While the USA is building walls alone the US-Mexico border, Latin America is now building diplomatic walls to keep the USA from meddlings in their internal affairs. It's a tit for tat situation. Just look at the expulsion of USA ambassadors and the hostile effects on others USA diplomats assigned to Latin America. The fact is clear, this will be a Hispanic century throughout the Americas. The fact remains that both the USA government and it's citizens are now some of the most hated of individuals throughout Latin America. Years of supporting Neo-fascists right wing governments and undermining civil and human rights in Latin America with obsolete weapons to keep the fascists in power is now coming to haunt the USA and it's entirety. The centuries old ignorance and arrogance the USA has for it's Western Hemisphere neighbors has added fuel to the distrust most Latin Americans have for the USA. China and Russia have now taken the lead in cultural exchanges, interactions, economic and trade in Latin America. It can now be said with certainty that the sun has set on the USA, not only throughout Latin America, but the rest of the civilized world. Pity. It's going to take a long time, perhaps hundreds of years, for the USA to be viewed or trusted throughout the Western Hemisphere. It's going to take much more than Obama (much less McCain) to change the hatred and mistrust Latin America has with the USA. The next ten-twenty years will tell the story.
Let's all contribute... we can't get ahead if only a part of the country is committed. Some think that the greatest generation has something to do with war. The greatest generation has everything to do with Americans of all ages, races, and genders coming together as one, in understanding that each one of us can and must make a difference, and most importantly in believing that the price for freedom is always worth it.

I find this as one of the most important wildlife issues of the decade. Actually I find this as important as the drilling in ANWR or the eco mess created at Yucca Mountain. It is a very ignorant mentality to think that a 700 mile steel concrete wall will have no impact on the Environment as well as wildlife.
For those Minuteman Members showing your Patriotism at the border putting flags Made in China Happy 4 of July but you should be ashamed of the damage to the enrivonment.
